Individuals and organizations that contribute in different ways and at different levels to improving the state of the Baltic Sea can be nominated for the Baltic Sea Award. It can be about working with practical and / or technical solutions to environmental problems. It can be about people or organizations that are active in science and research, in environmental movements or in cultural life or as administrators and decision makers in both business and public administration. The nominees must represent one of the nine Baltic Sea states.

Nominations can also be made to the Lasse Wiklöf Award, the Åland Award and the Youth Award.

Anyone can nominate. Nominations can be made in Swedish or English and must clearly state what the candidate has achieved and what significance it has had for the environment in the Baltic Sea.
